Description

BALANCE + POWER. An Elite Design for the Elite Hitter - the DeMarini CF8.

DeMarini has done it again - an insane amount of tech comes together to create their most powerful, lightest-swinging bat - the CF8. Like all of the CF Series designs, this one is a two-piece fully composite model that utilizes the Half & Half technology that helped put DeMarini on the map. But this bat just keeps getting better! In the barrel, you've got their newest Paradox +Plus Composite material. This premier blend of carbon fibers gives you Hot Out of the Wrapper Performance that only continues to improve each swing. The CF Series bats have always been extremely light-swinging, but this year, DeMarini was able to extend the barrel profile for their longest fully-comp sweet spot ever. Another advancement from last year's design lies in the addition of the D-Fusion 2.0 Handle. This upgrade offers a stiffer flex for max energy transfer to the baseball, but it simultaneously reduces any negative vibration - freeing hitters up to swing for the fences every time they step in the box. Anyone who has said "You can't have it all." obviously hasn't swung the DeMarini CF8.

The DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCFC features a -3 length to weight ratio, BBCOR Certification for High School and Collegiate Play, and it is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. You can pick yours up today at JustBats.com - where the shipping is always free, and we're here for you from Click To Hit! DeMarini: Power To The Player!

Great Bat Jake player

Pros: Best looking bat with great overall quality. Lots of pop off of the massive barrel. No vibration, even when you hit it near the handle. Very light swing weight which is perfect for getting to those inside pitches. I have not had this bat long so it is hard to rate the durability, but if it is like the other DeMarini bats that I have had then there should be no problems. This bat is extremely easy to control which gives me confidence going up to the plate.

Amazing bat GOAT gang player

Pros: This bat is amazing. The look of it is gorgeous, it has amazing pop, and has absolutely no vibration. I was a big Easton bat fan until for Christmas I got this bat. In the cages it's a monster during games it's a monster. You are practically gonna get on base every time when you use this bat unless you get struck out or they catch your long hit ball.

CF8 N/A player

Pros: Lightweight feel, great pop when you hit the sweet spot. Barrel is very large. Nice look, feels very even throughout the bat. Seems sturdy, break it in right though. Swings nicely and the ball comes off the bad very well. Easy to hit an inside pitch with the bat as well as outside. The light weight of the bat makes it easy to get on the inside of the ball on an inside pitch. The barrel length and speed also makes it great when hitting an outside pitch.

Cons: If you don't hit the sweet spot on this thing, you are going to have a bad time. Takes a while to break in, don't expect it to be perfect right out of the box. If you top off a ball or the ball hits near the barrel, it stings a little, but not nearly as bad as the CF7 was last year.

Demarini CF8 BBCOR Gage Thomas player

Pros: Bought this for our son to play high school and show case baseball. He loves the bats...says the ball pops off the bats excellent. Of all the bats out Demarini has been the best product for him. He normally cracks his bats. But we've had great luck with Demarini standing the test of time.

Cons: The grip isnt very durable...so we end up replacing it when we get a bat due to the history. They are a bit pricey.

CF8 IS GR8 Lelan Lewis player

Pros: Now obviously this bat is the highest priced BBCOR bat on the market currently....but when I bought this bat last offseason and used it the first time I fell in love with it... The bat has very good pop when you hit it on the barrel. Can't wait to see what I can do with it this summer.

Cons: The one thing about this bat is the grip, it is way too skinny, go out and buy yourself a thicker lizard skin, and you're set for 2+ years.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Besides being a two piece composite, what's the difference between this and the 2016 Rawlings VELO? Bro
The two-piece composite design is really what separates the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR (DXCFC) from the 2016 Rawlings VELO BBCOR. The CF8 also has DeMarini's D-Fusion 2.0 Handle to help eliminate vibration.
Marcus
What is the difference between this bat and the 2015 CF7? Both have the same composite, same D Fusion handle, but the CF7 is $200 less. Mitch
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) is a brand new release so it has not been able to be discounted right now. There is a difference in the D-Fusion 2.0 handle technology and the original D-Fusion design on the 2015 DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC). The 2.0 version allows for better energy transfer and a bit stiffer flex but still provides great sting and vibration protection.
Patrick
I am 5 foot 1 and 95 pounds and I am 13 years old. What should my bat length be? Matt
Based on height and weight, we would recommend a 30 inch size of the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC).
Patrick
My son is a 5'6" 120 pound freshman. What length bat would you recommend? Marc
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC).
Jason
I love the CF7. What is different about CF8 design? Pure Hitter
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) is slightly different from the CF7 model.
Patrick
What size bat would you recommend for a 6'3" 160lbs player? baseballkid
We would recommend a 33" in the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) for a player with your height and weight.
John
Is this bat approved for high school play? christie
Since the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC is BBCOR certified, it is approved for high school play.
Marcus
What's the difference between this and the Louisville Slugger Prime 916? Bro
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC and Louisville Slugger Prime 916 are two very similar bats in that they're both two-piece composite bats with a balanced swing weight. They also both feature technology to help reduce vibration.
Marcus
Could this bat be used by a power hitter? Bball
Absolutely. Power Hitters will typically prefer a bat with more mass in the barrel (like the DeMarini Voodoo RAW), but the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC would still allow a Power Hitter to be successful (if they like a more-balanced feel). Ultimately, it just depends on what the hitter is most comfortable swinging.
Mac
My 11 year old son used a 31 inch, 20 ounce bat for Little League last year. He needs a -3 for school team this year. He is 90 pounds and 5 feet tall. What size do you recommend? DD
Based on height and weight, we would recommend a 30 inch size of the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) but the adjustment to the -3 will be fairly difficult so it would be best to start working on it as soon as possible.
Patrick
What is the difference between the CF8 and the 2016 Easton MAKO XL? ronnie
This 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) and the 2016 Easton MAKO XL will both have a two-piece, all-composite design. However this CF8 will have a balanced swing weight while the MAKO XL will have a more end-loaded swing weight. As well, the MAKO XL will have a slightly longer barrel length.
Ben
I'm 5'll" and 175lbs. What size bat do you recommend? cernoer

Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC).
Jason
I am 5 foot 9 and weigh 150 pounds. What size bat do you recommend? Mike
Based on height and weight, we would recommend a 32 inch size of the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC).

John
Does the CF8 need to be broken in? Baseball
Yes, the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) will require a break-in period. We recommend around 150 swings off tee or soft toss. Make sure you rotate the barrel about a quarter of an inch every 15-20 swings to fully break-in the composite fibers.
John
What size would you recommend for a 5'9" 140lbs player? Baseball123
I would recommend a 32" 29 oz. 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) for a player of your height and weight.
Cameron
How do I break-in this bat? baseballlyfe123
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC is going to need around 150 to 200 hits off of a tee or soft toss to break it in properly. Start off at about 50% power and gradually increase as your swing count rises. It is also important to rotate the bat about a 1/4 inch on every swing. This ensures that your bat gets evenly broken in.
Marcus
what size bat would be recommended for a 5'6" 225lb power hitter? #dingersfordays
Based on your height/weight, I would suggest getting the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) in a 33/30.
Cameron
I am 5'11" and weigh 205 lbs. What size bat would I need? Hause25
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 33" model in the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
Jason
My son went through an incredible groth spurt over the winter. He is a 6'2" 250 lbs solid 14 year old. From all I've read on hear, it seems like a no brainer that he should be swinging a 34" bat now? DannyG
Based on your son's height/weight, we would typically suggest the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) in a 34 inch 30 oz. With that said, it may be best to use a 33 inch 30 oz. bat to help facilitate better bat speed based on his age.
Cameron
I am 5"8 and weigh 175. What size 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat should I purchase ? Heavy Hitter
Based on your height/weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) in a 33 inch 30 oz. model.
Cameron
I'm 6 foot and 140 pounds. What size would you recommend? SandlotKing
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 32" 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
John
My son is 5 foot 3 and weighs 180 pounds. He is 11 playing 13u. What bat size would you recommend? Vnm
Based on height and weight, we would recommend a 31 inch size of the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC). If he is fairly strong for his size, you may be able to get away with a 32 inch model that he could continue to grow into.
Patrick
I am 140 lbs and I am a fairly strong person. I'm 5'6" and have been using a 33" for the past year. I am wondering if I should switch to a 32? Capps
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model of the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC. However, if you are comfortable and successful with the 33" size then there is no reason to drop down.
Jason
I am 6'1 145 lbs. What size do you recommend? Reid
Based on your size and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC in a 33 inch 30 oz model.
Cameron
I am 170 pounds right now and I am 15 years old. What size BBCOR should I get? Shore baseball
The size of BBCOR bat like the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) that you should get would depend on both height and weight rather than just your weight. If you provide both pieces of information, we would be able to better suggest a size.
Patrick
I'm 15, 6'1", 165 pounds, and a balanced batter. What type of bat would be best for me? GOAT
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 33" 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC. The DeMarini CF8 will feature a balanced swing weight so it would be best for a player such as yourself.
John P.
I am 14 and am about to start high school baseball. I weigh 155 pounds and am 5'11". What size should I get? I have always used a 32 inch 29 oz with the CF5 but am ready to upgrade. Viper1236
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC in a 32 inch 29 ounce model.
Cameron
I'm 14 and weigh 138 lbs. I'm a power hitter. Would this be the right bat for me? kinchk17
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC would be a great bat for a power or contact hitter. It will feature a two-piece fully composite design with a balanced swing weight. With that said, typically a power hitter would benefit more from an end-loaded design (if one-piece, even better). The reason for the end-loaded design for a power hitter is due to this type of player being able to generate more whip or pendulum effect with the barrel head. An end-loaded design will feature more mass in a smaller sweet spot. This can cause a player to generate more power when a ball is squared up in the smaller but more concentrated sweet spot. Two end-loaded designs to consider are the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC and the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC.
Cameron
What is the lowest temperature that my son can use this bat in? Mudcat
We do not recommend excessive usage of the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC, or any bat, in temperatures below 60 degrees. The ball itself becomes more dense, thus leading to potentially damaging a bat.
Marcus
I'm 6'3 and 198 lbs. Should I stick with the 33in 30oz CF8? Dcubed7
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend a 34" 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
John P.
I am 14 and I am about to start high school baseball. I am 5'8" and 141 lbs. What size should I go with. I am thinking 32" 29 oz, but I am not sure about it. tyler23
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" 29 oz model of the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
Jason
My son is 17 yo, 6' 4", and 185lbs. He is a contact hitter. He is currently swinging a 33" bat. Should he move to a 34" ? What are the differences between the CF8 and Mako ? Connor
Moving up to a 34 inch bat is completely up to the individual player. Based on his height and weight, we would recommend the 34 inch 31 ounce model but being that he is more of a contact hitter staying with the 33 inch 30 ounce model is probably best. To gain a better perspective on this, would suggest discussing this matter with someone who knows his current swing. As for the differences between the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC and the 2016 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MK, those are going to be the composite materials used (Thermo Composite Technology with the MAKO and Paradox +Plus Composite with the CF8). Both bats will feature slightly different connection point technology as well. With that said, both bats are two-piece fully composite with balanced swing weights.
Cameron
I am 14, 6´2 and 195 lbs, what size bat should i get joe
We would recommend that you swing a 34" bat.
Nick
My son is 5'8" and 120 lbs. What bat length should he buy? He is a contact hitter, what bat do you recommend? Joe
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 31" model. The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC has a balanced swing weight and it is a terrific option for a contact hitter.
Jason
I am 5'5" and 122 lbs. What inch and ounce should I get? gunner
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" 28 oz model of the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
Jason
My CF8 says "not for retail sale" and "no warranty" at the bottom of the barrel. What does this mean? pup
Your 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) is good for use. Those notes signify that the model you currently have in possesion will not be covered by a manufacturer's warranty period if it breaks (I would imagine the CF8 you are using is a warranty replacement model sent from DeMarini after breaking your original model).
Ben
My son is 13 and he is 4'-10" and 80 pounds what size bat should he be swinging? He will be in high school next year he swings a CF6 29" 21 oz. now. poncho
For your son's height and weight recommend a 29" length bat. When he gets to high school, he will need to use a BBCOR certified bat which has a -3 length to weight ratio. We suggest getting a bat with a -5 length to weight ratio, in order for him to gradually transition into using a BBCOR model.
Angelique
I am 14 5-11 I weight 225 what size bat should I use. Big Mac
Based on your height and weight, I would recommend a 33" bat.
Nick
I'm 6'3 and 185 pounds. Could I swing a 32 inch bat? bsbl
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 34" 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
John P.
I was looking for a new bat. Do you think that the DeMarini CF8 is $200 better than the Easton MAKO? Batman
This 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) has received excellent reviews at JustBats since its release during the fall of 2014. I think this CF8 is an excellent bat and will certainly compete alongside the 2016 MAKO. However, I wouldn't be able to comment on if it is $200 better than the MAKO or not.
Ben
I just got the bat and hit one bucket (around 60 balls) at 100%. I rotated the bat but I keep seeing it should be broken in off the tee at 50%. Could I have damaged the bat? Lyndall
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC is a two-piece fully composite bat that will feature a balanced swing weight. The composite material in the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC will require a break-in period off the tee or soft toss. As for the amount of energy you exert doing this (full speed or at 50%) will not have any bearing on damaging your bat. Just remember, rotate the barrel about 1/4" after every swing to help facilitate an even break-in.
Cameron
Is there a significant difference between the CF6 and CF8? swingsam
The new 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) will feature upgraded Paradox +Plus Composite material and an updated D-Fusion handle when compared to the older CF6. The new composite material will make the bat lighter in swing weight and the new handle limits the vibration that reaches a players hands.
Ben
What is the barrel diameter? Dinger Derby
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) has a 2 5/8" barrel.
John
I am 5'8", 150 pounds, and a junior in high school. I've been using a 32 inch bat for the last two seasons and I don't know if I should go to a 33. What do you guys think? zdehn5
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 32" 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
John P.
I am 5'3" and weigh 110 lbs. What size would you recommend? Bud
For a player of your height and weight, I would recommend going with the 30" 27 oz. model of the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
Marcus
I'm 6'1", 195 lbs and have been using the 33" CF7. Should I make the switch to a 34" CF8? Jake
Based upon your height and weight, we would recommend going with a 33" model of a BBCOR .50 bat. I think that unless you feel a switch to a 34" model is absolutely necessary, I would recommend a 33" model of this 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC).
Ben
What is new in this bat compared to my CF5? dsilver17
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC is made of DeMarini's Paradox +Plus Composite to give it an even ligfhter swing weight and improved overall feel. It also features their D-Fusion 2.0 Handle to help reduce vibration and redirect that energy back into the barrel.
Marcus
My son is playing for the JV team and he is 14. Is this a good bat for him? Louis
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC is one of the best bats on the market and it is a great option for just about any player.
Jason
What size bat should I get I'm 13 and 5'11 and 250 pounds Jagger
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend either a 33 inch 30 ounce model or 34 inch 31 ounce model of the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC. Based on your age though, a 32 inch or possibly a 31 inch model may be a better fit currently; it will all depend on the weight of the bat you are currently using and what your bat speed and swing path is with the current bat.
Cameron
How would you say this compares to the 2015 Easton XL1? My son was using a -8 but has grown so much and now ready for a -3. Is it top heavy like the Easton or more well balanced? I think the Easton was more top heavy . Overall he's a power hitter, 5'10" 165 lbs. danielle
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC will feature a more balanced swing weight feel when compared to the Easton XL1. Both of these bats are two-piece, composite designs. If looking for something more in line with the Easton XL1 in terms of end-loaded swing weight and a two-piece composite design, we would suggest looking into the 2016 Easton MAKO XL BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKL.
Cameron
Is this bat similar to the DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC? Jeff
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) is similar to the DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC). The biggest change is that the CF8 will have an upgraded Paradox Plus composite and the D-Fusion 2.0 handle which will help cut down a bit more on vibration and expand the sweet spot.
Damon
Is this bat worth the high price? Is this bat durable enough to make it 3-4 year of high school ball? jpchapman
This 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) will be priced as high as it is due to its two-piece, all-composite design. That design is the most expensive to build and the price of the bat reflects the design of the bat. As well, you'll see that this bat has also received excellent reviews. If taken care of well, this bat could be used for multiple seasons, but I would be very surprised if it was able to make it through 4 seasons of high school and summer baseball.
Ben
I'm 5'10" and 170 lbs. Would a 33" bat be too big for me? lnobes6
At your height and weight, as long as you feel that you can handle the 30 oz weight of the 33" length model of this 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC), you should be just fine going with that size of this bat.
Ben
What is the difference between the CF8 and the Voodoo OVERLORD FT from last year? Which bat is better? Aidan
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC features a two-piece composite design with a balanced swing weight. The Voodoo OVERLORD FT features a two-piece hybrid design with an end loaded swing weight. Both bats are equally good bats. It really depends on what type of hitter you are to determine which model is better for you. The CF8 is typically a better option for a contact hitter because of the balanced swing weight. The Voodoo OVERLORD FT is typically better for power hitters because of the end loaded swing weight.
Jason
Which bat do you recommend for me, this model or the 2016 Rawlings Velo? I am 5'5" and a contact hitter who uses a 32" 29 oz. Also, which one is faster to break in? Thanks. Mart
For a contact hitter we recommend the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC as this bat has a two-piece construction. The 2016 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRV3 is all alloy and therefore will not have a break in period.
Angelique
I'm 5'8" and a 160 pound power hitter. Which bat do you recommend? hunter janisko
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 32" 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
John P.
How big is the sweet spot on the CF8 compared to the CF7? Glen
The sweet spot 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC is going to be slightly more expanded than that of the CF7.
Marcus
I am 16 years old, 5'10" and 170 pounds. I currently use a 33 inch 30 ounce bat, but would like to know what you recommend for someone of my height and weight..? Timmy O.
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend sticking with a 33" 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
John P.
My son is 5'9" and 135 lbs. Based on the chart you have on the website, I should buy him a 33" model of bat. However, based on the recommendations you gave to others at a similar height and weight, it seems like a 32" bat would be better. Can you steer me in the right direction, 33" or 32"? Don
Based upon your player's height and weight, the general suggestion of our JustBat's Bat Coach would be to go with a 32" option of a BBCOR bat (I would trust the Bat Coach over the chart). If you feel that your player would be most comfortable with with the 29 oz weight of the 32" model, definitely consider this 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) in that size.
Ben
How big is the sweet spot in inches? Bill
Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to measure the sweet spot on this 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) in inches. However, the length from the end-cap to the connection point is around 14.5" inches and that length of barrel will allow for a good sized sweet spot on the bat.
Ben
My son currently uses DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC which he loves. However, that bat has to go back for warranty and were looking for a replacement. Is this bat a good option? He seems to be more of a contact hitter lately using the Voodoo but since he hits so well with it was not sure if we should change. He's 5'11 about 135 lbs and currently swinging the 32-29. Suggestions? Jessica
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC in a 32 inch 29 ounce model. With that said, the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC will have more of a balanced swing weight while the bat you were using previously, the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC, will have a slightly end-loaded swing weight (not to mention this bat is a hybrid with the composite handle and alloy barrel; the CF8 is a two-piece bat with balanced swing weight). A contact hitter will typically benefit more from the balanced bat such as the CF8 but if he is having success with the Voodoo then we would suggest sticking with this type of bat (end-loaded).
Cameron
Our son is eligible to use either this CF8 BBCOR Bat or the Senior League CF8 -5 in his Pony Division. He is 5'9 and weighs 120 lbs. What size would you recommend (we are thinking 33" length for either)? What option would you recommend and will the extra weight be beneficial for him on the BBCOR bat? Senorgreen74
If you are looking to buy one bat that your player can use for this upcoming season and at the beginning of his high school career, I would recommend going with this 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) in the 32" length. However, if you guys feel that he can handle the 30 oz weight of the 33" option of this bat, then you can certainly go with this bat in that size option. I think that when he starts out with the BBCOR bat it will feel pretty heavy, but with time he should be able to grow into the bat and use it effectively at the plate.
Ben
I got a brand new CF7 and CF8, but I can only use one. Which bat would you recommend? ls the $100 difference that special between the bats? Niz
Both the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC and the DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC are great bats to consider. As for the price difference, that is really a personal preference as to what you value in regards to the $100 difference. The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC, besides the different paint scheme, will have improved connection point technology to better reduce vibration from off-centered hits (D-Fusion 2.0), Paradox Plus composite for a lighter swing weight and a longer sweet spot. Is this worth the additional cost? That will vary from one person to the next.
Cameron
my son is 5'2 and weighs 120 what size bat should he swing? tholthausen
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC in a 30 inch 27 ounce model.
Cameron
I am 5'7" and weigh 140 lbs. What size bat should I get? triggert
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC in a 31 inch 28 ounce model.
Cameron
I am 5'10" and weigh 165 pounds. what size bat would I swing? BigL
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 32" 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
John P.
My son (5'10" / 185lbs) has good power and hits clean up for his HS team. He's always preferred a balanced swing weight. As a power hitter, if he could adjust to a more end-loaded model, what would it actually do for him? jdrb
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend going with an option of this 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) in the 33" length. This bat will be balanced in its swing weight and as long as your player can handle the 30 oz weight of the 33" model of the bat, I would recommend that size. I do not think that an end-load would be necessary for him if he is performing well and getting the results he desires with a balanced bat. However, end-loaded bats do provide more mass in the barrel. If you player can control and swing that extra barrel mass effectively, he will be able to put more force into a ball and typically hit the ball further. If you wanted to look at an end-loaded model, I would recommend the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC).
Ben
I'm 5'9" and 140 lbs. What size would you recommend? louie
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC in a 32 inch 29 ounce model.
Cameron
I am 5'10" and weigh 175 pounds. What size would you recommend? Sammy
Based upon your height and weight, we would recommend going with a BBCOR bat in the 33" length. As long as you feel that you can handle the 30 oz weight of the 33" model of this 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC), then I would recommend getting that size option of this bat.
Ben
I'm 5'3" and 100 pounds. Would I have good pop with this bat and what size would you recommend? dinger
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 29-30" 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC. This particular model is very highly reviewed in the pop category.
John P.
My son has just moved up to 50/70. He is 5'2" and 90 lbs. The rules say all composite bats must be BBCOR certified but all I have found are drop 3s. He is currently using the 2015 MAKO 30" / 19 oz for Little League. What bat would you recommend? ralphy
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would not recommend using the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC as it will be much too heavy. All BBCOR certified baseball bats will feature a -3 length to weight ratio. If your player absolutely wants to use a composite baseball bat then I would recommend the smallest length which in this case will be 30 inches.
John P.
How long/how many swings does it take to break in this bat? JT
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC requires a slight break-in period of about 50 swings off of a tee or soft-toss. Would suggest rotating the barrel a 1/4" after each swing using about 50-70% of max swing.
Cameron
What is the difference between the CF8 and the CF7? Chad
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC has a longer barrel than the CF7 does, which in turn will give it a larger sweet spot as well. It also features DeMarini's D-Fusion 2.0 Handle, which is more efficient at reducing vibration.
Marcus
Is this bat made in 29" 26 oz.? poncho
Unfortunately, the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC was not produced in that size. The smallest size it was made in is 30" 27 oz.
Marcus
I am 6 foot and i weugh 135 pounds. I currently yse a 32-29 bat what size cf8 should i get? 21
Based on your height and weight, I would recommend that you swing the 33" 30 oz. model of the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
Nick
Can you use this bat in 13U travel ball or middle school baseball? Baller
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC is a bat used by those in high school and college. As for what middle school and 13U travel ball players can use, this can vary from one league/state. A lot of middle schools are requiring the use of BBCOR bats and we would assume that the travel ball league would allow the BBCOR models as well since the player would not be gaining an advantage but we would recommend checking with local league officials to confirm.
Cameron
What is the recommended break-in for the CF8? ABurke
This 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) should not require any break-in as it should be hot right out of the wrapper. However, if you wanted to allow for a break-in period, it would probably only take a few rounds of BP or some sessions of hitting the ball off a tee to get it in game-ready condition.
Ben
I am 5'6" and 135 pounds. What size would you suggest? #22
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 31" 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
John P.
I'm 15, 5'10", and 145 pounds. What size bat should I get? seth
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 32" 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC.
John P.
I'm going into high school and I am wondering what the bat regulations are in high school ball? moonshot
The requirement to which bats need to be adhered for use in high school will be that the bat features the BBCOR .50 stamp. This 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) features the BBCOR .50 stamp and will be allowed for use in high school play.
Ben
im 15 and going to be on my teams jv team next year im 6ft 180lb is this a good bat for me? tommy kimmes
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC is a two-piece fully composite bat with a balanced swing weight. This is a great bat to consider for someone like you. Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC in a 33 inch 30 ounce model, if you feel strong enough. Otherwise, a 32 inch 29 ounce model may be a better fit based on your age.
Cameron
Will this bat be on sale soon? Jimbo
At this time we do not know when DeMarini may be lowering the price on the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC. Typically this occurs when the 2017 models are being set to be released. With that said, would imagine sometime in July for the prices to drop.
Cameron
Is there a big difference between this the cf7 and the cf6? If so, what is it? johnny appleseed
The biggest difference between the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC and the DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC other than the cosmetics, is the D-Fusion 2.0 Handle Technology. The updated handle technology is said to help reduce vibration and redirect more energy into the baseball. The DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC will feature the the Low Pro End Cap to help improve balance and barrel compression, while the older DeMarini CF6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC features the Geo End Cap. In addition to that, the DeMarini CF6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC won't feature the flame tempered handle technology.
Nick
Is this bat really worth the money? What's the difference between the CF7 besides the D-Fusion handle? big mike
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC also features the new Paradox +Plus Composite which offers a lighter swing weight, maximum pop, and better durability in comparison to the DeMarini CF7.
John P.
I'm 14 and 5'4" and 110-115 lbs. This year on my 8th grade middle school team I swung a 31" BBCOR version of the new VELO. Would you recommend this for me as I am a contact hitter and should I stay with the 31"? Jake Johnson
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC in a 31 inch model if you feel that you did not have any issues getting a 31/28 through the zone. The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC is a two-piece fully composite bat with a balanced swing weight and would be a great option to consider for a contact hitter.
Cameron
How can it be lighter if it's a drop 3 like the rest? DINGERSWINGER
Bats like the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC will all have different swing weight "feels" to them based on the materials used as well as how the barrel weight is balanced. This bat will not be lighter than a drop 3 but may feature better balance when compared to other bat models.
Cameron
Is it good for power or just contact? Aidan
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC is a two-piece fully composite model that may be used by both a power and a contact hitter.
John P.
What bat do you feel is good for a power hitter? I'm 6'1" and 260. dinger Bob chap
There is not one BBCOR bat that is necessarily better for a power hitter than another; some power hitters though may prefer an end-loaded swing weight bat like the Voodoo RAW. Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC in a 33 or 34 inch model.
Cameron
My son wants this bat, but I see it's discontinued. What bat can you recommend that is similar to it from DeMarini? Sharon Klepacz
The model that replaced the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC is the 2017 DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCBC.
Cameron
Can you order another one of these bats for my son? Kelly
Unfortunately, since DeMarini no longer makes the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC, we are not able to order any more of these. You would most likely have to check a second hand store or shop Ebay for a used model at this point.
Logan
What does the CF8 really sound like? I was watching videos and it had a good sound but in real life it sounds like a hybrid bat. Kelly
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC is a composite barrel bat and will sound more close to that of wood.
Cameron
Is this bat still legal for high school play? Isaiah
Yes, the DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC is still legal for high school play.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
