The Louisville Slugger Meta Prime uses Louisville's latest technology to provide one of the largest sweet spots on the market, but does feel like a slight end loaded swing weight, which is more designed for power hitters. Since the 2020 Meta Prime is still a very recent release, it's impossible to say for certain. However, there were not too many major changes from the 2019 to the 2020 model, so I would expect the same, high performance from the 2020 model.

The Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBMTB320 features a 12 month warranty from the date of purchase through LS. This is the same type of warranty period that Easton and other bat manufacturers offer. If the bat were to become defective, a customer could set up a claims number with LS so they could send the bat back to them for replacement. Most manufacturers will only replace a bat once within the original 12 month warranty period.

Typically, fully composite bats like this Louisville Slugger Meta tend to last 1-2 years, depending on how much the player plays (year round, spring only, etc). Aluminum barrel typically last slightly longer. This bat should be one of the best on the market, so it would be an excellent choice. The 2019 Meta Prime from Louisville Slugger was a very good performing BBCOR bat, and this is the updated model.

Is there recommendations on breaking in a 2020 Meta BBCOR? Joe
The best way to break in the Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBMTB320, or any other composite barrel bat, would be to take 150-250 swings off the tee, soft toss, front side toss, etc. After around 10 swings, rotate the barrel roughly a 1/4 turn to help ensure a break in across the entirety of the barrel. Swing effort should be around 60-70% of max swing effort. This will help establish the break-in on the bat and it will continue to break in further during use.

The 2020 Louisville Slugger Meta is essentially the same bat as the 2019 Meta Prime. The only change other than the cosmetics is the EKO composite barrel which just helps speed up the break in period.

We wouldn't recommend using the Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBMTB320 below 50 degrees as the ball actually gets harder in the colder temperatures and it can cause the composite to crack.

With any composite bat, we suggest anywhere from 50-150 swings off a tee or using soft toss, taking about 3/4 speed swings. Rotate the bat as you do so to break it in all around the barrel as well.

Is there a limitation to how much you should hit with the Meta? Luke
Not really, no. While constant use will raise the risk of durability concerns down the road (say hitting in the cage for a few hundred swings multiple times a week), so far we haven't had too many concerns from customers in regards to the bat's durability, and you do have the 12 month warranty from Louisville on this bat. We do recommend avoiding hitting the dimple cage balls however, as they can put more stress on the bat than a normal ball. Rotating the bat and getting hits all along the barrel can help as well.

The pop on both bats is essentially the same when you barrel the ball up, as the BBCOR certification only allows for a maximum amount of pop. However, the Meta seems to have a larger sweet spot, allowing for more barrel contact, which has the appearance of more pop. The Prime is still a top end model however, and there is not a significant difference in my opinion between them, but some customers do prefer the Meta over the Prime.

I think either the 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 and the 2020 Easton ADV 360 -3 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB20ADV will give the a similar feel to the Meta. Both would be good options for a replacement. One thing to keep in mind is the 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 is not approved for play in the NCAA due to the white barrel color.

Only the 33 inch model of the Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBMTB320 has been deemed illegal. This resulted due to the 33 inch bat not passing the various re-tests that bats are subjected to after coming to market. The 34 inch model would not have the same "pop" because, if it did, then it too would also have been pulled/banned.

If your Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBMTB320 has experienced paint chipping then that is not something that LS would likely replace under their warranty policy. The manufacturers would replace the bat if something has caused the bat to become defective which resulted in the bat not being allowed for game play.

About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
