Pros: This is a super bat, it is hot out of the wrapper. Very large sweet spot, very little vibration. I see a whole lot of other girls using this same bat on the travel teams that we compete against. Our team liked this bat so much that they bought one for the team and another parent bought one for their daughter. Increased my daughters distance and bat speed - because the bat feels lighter than it really is. I highly recommend it!
Cons: Be very careful in the cold because you do not want to damage it. Bought a bat warmer for to help protect it, it has also helped increasing the distance of the ball travel.

Pros: Good customer service, great bat thus far. My daughter (10) plays travel. This is her first composite. She likes this bat and I've saw big improvements in distance. God bless! Love the kids!!
Cons:
Teddy Grahams
Pros: Best bat I've ever owned; Great pop, no painful sting when you hit it weird, lots of power, and GREAT for slappers.
Cons: A lot of people own this bat.
Tim
Pros: I got this bat for my 7 year old daughter recently, and it's awesome right out of the wrapper. Even better than other $$$ composite bats we've had. She loves it.
Cons: She did complain it hurt her hands....which was easily remedied with batting gloves.
Syd
Pros: Hot!!! Solid bat. I have had 3 other girls on my travel ball team that as got this bat seen I got mine. Hottest bat i have had.
Cons: None.. I would highly recommend this bat.
KJA
Pros: 8-10 Year Old's Great "Balanced" Bat with great POP, this bat will definetly add confidence to your daughters game.
Cons: The Durability for the -11's are very questionable, although the Demarini Warranty Department is "Top Notch" to work with you with any issues that you have. Hard Hitters should go with the -10 Models for durability.

Pros: The ball pops fast off this bat! Lightweight and durable. All the girls on her team love to use her bat. Worth the price!
Cons: Nothing
Kasey
Pros: This bat has great pop right out of the wrapper. Can't wait to see what it does once it gets warmed up.
Cons: Not having one sooner
SoftballDad80
Pros: My daughter is a light hitting infielder, but really found some confidence at the plate with the CF5. Its nicely balanced and has great pop when hit in the sweat spot. My daughter, who typically hits infield grounders, hit several line drives to the fence with this bat during the spring/summer season.
Cons: Price and longevity. We treated this bat with kid gloves - never hit batting cage balls with it and never used it in semi-cold weather - but it still lasted only one season. It ended up suffering a major crack right in the center of the sweet spot. She used it in about 60 games and countless practices, but I would still like to see it last longer, given the price. With that said, I just replaced her 2012 CF5 with the 2013 version, so we were pretty happy.
Coach Jason
Pros: Hottest bat around. My daughter is a good hitter, but with this bat the ball just rockets. She owns both a Xeno and a Stealth, neither compare to the CF5.
Cons: My 9 year old daughter busted two bats in 8 months. First bat broke in two months, the send one broke DeMarini replaced one w/ a new five months later. Since the warranty only allows one replacement, they would only send me a "Demo" for the second bat. Guess what, after about 30 swings, the end cap popped off the THIRD BAT.
softball freak
Pros: I used this bat at a game that really meant alot to my team, I've never hit deep in the green before, and when I used this bat, the ball went deep in left center! So I think that this is the best bat you could get!
Cons: There is no cons for this bat.
Fastpitch dad
Pros: Bat (-10) has really good pop out of the box. Probably adds 10 ft on miss hits, 20 + if hit on the screws.
Cons: Purchased 9-2012, and as of this review 10-2012, bat is cracked. Can't tell if it's cosmetic ( she doen't care) or more serious. 2 other girls on her team alone had the same issue with this type of bat.
hn
Pros: Our girls like the feel and weight of this bat. Many of them have started using it. I like the way the ball comes off the bat, good solid hits.
Cons: Price
Andy
Pros: This bat is amazing. Out of the box and to the field ... first at bat a screamer at the pitcher. Next at bat a shot that cleared the fence by 15 feet. Best softball equipment investment we've ever made!
Cons: None!
danny24
Pros: This bat is worth the money, right out of the wrapper it has pop. My daughter hit her first and second Homerun in one tournament. She loves the bat. Even her outs are hit hard.

Mae Mae

Pros: Awesome bat tons of pop right out of the package I was really amazed at how much the bat improved distance on the ball. DeMarini has an excellent customer service as a company so I know I will be taken care of incase any thing happens.

Pros: My 10 y/o daughter used this bat at a tournament this weekend and hit her first 2 legitimate HRs with this bat. She has been using an older cf3, Miken FX700 light, and tried a Xeno a few times. Needless to say I will be purchasing a cf5.
Cons: None
batbuyer01
Pros: good looking, if that's all you want in a bat.
Cons: Absolutely hated it. Stings your hands in 85 degree weather if you don't hit it in the perfect spot. No where near as much pop as my Xeno. As long as Louiville Slugger TPS continues to make Xeno's, I will continue to swing one.
LisaMomof3
Pros: My girls demo'd this bat and from the first hits improved 90%. I thought the composite bat hooplah was BS until I saw them crush it at All Stars games this weekend. Amazing bat and yes, worth the price.
Cons: Zero cons--unless you have twins like I do who EACH want one! Thank goodness they are on the same team. They can SHARE.
Taiesha
Pros: Hits beautifully !
Cons:
SoftballDad
Pros: Real Pop - Bat is ready out of the wrapper. Hits better that any other composite bat I have seen. Most every Girl on team has one now.
Cons: Breaks and cracks to quick. I purchased one last fall. Did not make it 6 weeks. I purhased another for spring - lasted 5 weeks, I am on third purchased bat and have one warranty bat in reserve. Just sent off for second bats warranty. They just dont last - but man they are hot.
crushed
Pros: Great Bat! has really made my 11 year olds confidence at the plate a lot better.

CF4 WAS BETTER
Pros: HOT OUT OF THE BOX
Cons: BROKE 2 MONTHS
PowerShot Dad
Pros: Out of the Wrapper hotest Bat Ive ever seen,my Daughters have had Synergies and Andersons and they love this Bat.
Cons: Doesnt have a 3 year life span like a Easton or Anderson but by that time a kid grows and is ready for the next size bat any way. This bat is a upgrade from the minus 12.We love them,Demarini has always had a less than perfect Warranty but for the confidence this bat builds you gotta be willing to make some sacrifices.
Concerned DAD
Pros: great pop with this bat. lighter swing weight for younger players.
Cons: Breaks to easy. My daughter has broken 3 CF5 in 1 season. This should not happen in 10u.

Former DeMarini Owner
Pros: Get pop for 15 days. The barrel shattered during batting practice.
Cons: DeMarini representative said that a 10 year old girl over powered the bat. There have been 2 other families with -11 bats that busted in my town. Buyer Beware!
Blaze
Pros: Very well balanced and has a good pop!
Cons: Paint chips easyand has a small sweet spot.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."
In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.
Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.
To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.
In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.
Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.
With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).
In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.
Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.
In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.
More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
