What is the break-in period? And is there temperature limitations? We live in Michigan and spring tournaments are cold. Koop
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT10B will feature a composite barrel so there will be a break-in period needed before this bat is truly "hot" or game ready. We recommend about 150-200 swings off the tee or soft toss, rotating the barrel a 1/4" after each swing to get the optimal break-in. As for temperatures, the composite bats typically will not hold up as well in colder temps (even alloy bats have issues but will have slightly more durability in colder weather) as they will be more prone to cracking. We understand that there is no way around these weather issues so using a bat warmer can help or, if possible, using an alloy bat like the Easton S3 during colder weather.
