Big A

Pros: This bat is hot. Was told that the barrel was stiff out of the wrapper but hit one to the warning track on the first pitch this bat hit. I have hit a lot of bats over the years and this one is a must have. Once this thing opens up it will be incredible.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton Synergy Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SCX2? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I am having some difficulty selecting a bat. I am normally a line drive hitter but can swing for the fences and have often just come upa little short...and figure the right bat can help for when i want to go yard. I have it limited down to the Synergy, Salvo, Denny Crane, Limited edition Freak, mayhem and Craze extreme. It seems maybe the slightly end loaded bats may be better for me as i have gone to a couple local stores trying to at least feel the difference between end loaded and balanced. I have bought several bats off your website for my sone and baseball and was wondering if someone could talk me through my final decision? My league is USSSA sanctioned so the bat does not need to be ASA approved...do ASA bats have less pop? Rob Rothrock
Yes. ASA bats will have less pop and won't perform quite as good as USSSA bats. If you have swung an end-loaded bat before and were able to maintain good swing speed and bat control, you should benefit from using one. If you don't get an end-loaded bat, I would recommend a two-piece bat. Two-piece bats will flex more during your swing and will generate more bat head speed at the moment of contact. Out of the bats you are looking at, I would recommend either the Denny Crine, Mayhem Reload or Synergy. The Mayhem Reload won't be quite as end-loaded as the Synergy or Denny Crine. All are great performing bats, but I actually liked the performance of the Synergy and Denny Crine better than the Mayhem. The Synergy does not have a warranty (which is why it's a little cheaper). The Mayhem and Denny Crine both have one year manufacturer warranties.

Will this bat still be legal for USSSA next year? The specs say it is BPF 1.20. five4fisticuffs
The SCX2 does not have the new USSSA stamp required for play in 2013. It is legal in 2012.
Kara
This is my favorite bat! And my team loves it too. Sad to hear it won't be legal next year. Was actually in the market for a new bat. Do you have a great alternatives to this one? That is USSSA and ASA approved since I play in different leagues? Laura
A couple great choice would be the Easton Salvo, 2013 Easton Salvo Comp 98, and the 2013 Easton Synergy 98H.
Ryan
Does this bat need to be broken in? Or is it game ready out of the package? Thanks! TVN
Since the Easton Synergy is a one-piece composite bat, it will require a break-in. Only alloy barrel bats will be hot right out of the wrapper.
Jennifer
Heard this bat is ASA approved for 2012. Is that true? Neat
No. The Easton SCX2 is not approved for ASA play.
Tyler
Is this bat NSA approved? i believe it has to say NSA approved on bat JZ
The Easton SCX2 is approved for NSA play and will say NSA Approved on the barrel.
Tyler
Is there another Synergy that looks the same with yellow around synergy thats is ASA approved? I see a couple of teams using a bat that looks just like it. Transcend
The Easton Synergy POWER CNT PLUS Softball Bat: SCN10BH Slow Pitch is a discontinued model. It was ASA approved and looks similar to the Easton Synergy: SCX2.
Kara
Does Easton make a current bat that may be similar to this? I have two of the SCX2 and after four years of use they are starting to wear out. FancyEd
The 2014 Easton LX.0 (SP14LX) is the most similar to the Easton Synergy (SCX2). Both are one-piece composite bats that are slightly end loaded.
