The average lifespan of a bat is around 2 years but there are a lot of factors that play into how long a bat lasts, there is really no way of calculating the lifespan of a particular bat.

The XL1 and S1 are Easton's top of the line and best performers. The XL2 and S2 are their second best performers. The XL3 and S3 are third in Easton's pecking order. The main difference in choosing between these comes down to what kind of hitter you are. The problem is not the bat, but the ball. Cold temperatures make the composition of the ball denser and could put unusual stress on the bat walls which can result in denting. This can occur with composite or alloy barrels in colder temperatures.

Not sure about the information contained in the above questions. In several instances, I saw where Both the XL3 and the XL1 were referred to as one-piece construction, all alloy. Which one is it? If you have good strength and above average swing speed, I would recommend the XL. If not, I would go with the S. Based on your height and weight, the general recommendation is a 32 inch model.

None of the BBCOR bats will perform as well as the bats stamped with USSSA BPF 1.15 stamps. The Easton XL3 is one of the highest performing BBCOR bats on the market though.

The Easton XL Series is designed for more of a power hitter with a long barrel and more weight towards the end. Ideally if you keep using it you would get used to it. The XL3 is a one-piece so it will be stiffer and not have the flex of the XL1 and XL2.

If you only have average bat speed, the Easton XL3 may not be the best choice due to it's endloaded feel preferred by strong hitters with high swing speeds. My recommendation would be the Rawlings 5150 Velo. It is a very well balanced bat that is within your price range.

It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Since you previously used the XL1, I would recommend sticking with that bat.

Using your friends bat would be the safe way to go. But if you really want to make the team you will buy a new bat. Buying a new bat will do a couple of things for you. First it will get you in the right positive mindset that you will be playing baseball in the spring and help to remove doubt from your mind. Secondly it will force you to work harder than you already do because if you invest the money and time, you will do everything in your power to make the team.

However, two-piece bats often offer a little more protection against sting and vibration. Dumb question, are BBCOR bats accepted in USSSA tournaments? Would I have any regulation issues with using BBCOR at a U13/u14 federation baseball level? My boy is going into U13 this year. BBCOR Certified bats are legal in USSSA leagues and tournaments as well as High School or College. However, if your son is 13 I would recommend having him transition into swinging a -5 size. The -3 BBCOR may feel too heavy if he is not used to swinging it. The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult bat will also feel a little end loaded. The Easton S3 and Easton XL3 replaced the Rival. The S3 is a little more balanced than the Rival and would be recommended if your son has average strength and swing speed. The XL3 is more endloaded than the Rival and would be recommended if your son has above average strength and swing speed. These would be the top options as it's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.

I'm 15, 5'7, and weigh 135lbs. I definitely have above average strength and way above average bat speed. I have enough power that I could hit home runs but I typically hit deep line drive gapers. I usually bat in the 2 or 3 slot in the lineup bc of my ability to consistently get good solid hits I don't really need a "fast" bat like those in the Easton's speed series cause I already have plenty of bat speed and control. My last bat was the Miken RZR Shok and I really did like the feel of it, however, I'm looking for a bat that will offer the same feel to it but has a slightly larger barrel and sweet spot. Will the XL3 offer what I am looking for? And if you have any other suggestions for bats, they would be much appreciated (I tend to like one piece alloy bats better than a lot of composite stuff).
