Good Contact Hitter Bat D3 College Player Player
Pros: Swings LIGHT -- my 33-inch feels more like a 32. Honestly, this bat swings lighter than my old Velo 33" and my more recent Voodoo One 33" that I replaced with this bat because the Voodoo's knob broke. This Velo is GREAT for catching up to fast pitching. Good power -- if you barrel it up on the sweet spot with good bat speed, you can hit the ball over the fence.
Cons: Sweet spot isn't huge. And if you hit off the end of the bat, the ball just dies. That 2 inch composite end cap makes the bat swing lighter, but the tradeoff is less sweet spot and less power.
Nice lightweight bat with a lotta pop. Colby Parent
Pros: Lightweight and tons of pop. Bought for my 13 year old son as a replacement for his solo. He likes the velo better so far.
Cons: None
Love it Muns Player
Pros: Love it
Cons: Love it
Velocity Smooth Lonnie P Parent

Cons: Update the color scheme

Pros: Very light swinging, good pop
Cons: None

Cons: None
Great bat J Hud Player
Pros: Great pop Awesome feel
Cons: A little pricey
Great bat when it's not broken Kirk Sanders Parent
Pros: The bat had a good feel and was an overall good bat until it developed a rattle
Cons: The first bat developed a rattle. Rawlings was good to replace the bat quickly. However, the replacement bat broke in two pieces after about three months during the offseason. Rawlings would not replace the bat again or offer any type of discount for future purchases. I will not be purchasing another Rawlings bat.
Decent bat way to high of a price Justin Tanner Player
Pros: It hits well when hit on the tiny sweet spot
Cons: If you miss the sweet spot by half in inch your whole body will pay for it the vibration control is horrible I didn’t use the bat all summer because of it.
Velo BBCOR has pop Brady Player
Pros: Nice pop Light swinging bat Barrel ridges for backspin Comes in a half size at 32.5” Sounds good Slightly larger barrel than USABat and USSSA bats. Knob is a good size. Some are too small. Great color way
Cons: Bat tape not the best. An easy fix though. Recommend buying it with new bat wrap from Just Bats. Let them put it on.
Love this bat Gunnar Bettenhausen Player
Pros: Great balance, feel, and sound. I love everything about this bat.
Cons: The grip leaves something to be desired. I would much rather have a tapered handle
BBCOR Velo Dave Parent
Pros: Good bat. Rawlings has become our favorite brand because of the quality, performance, and durability of the bats.
Cons: Had to go up to drop 3 BBCOR for high school earlier than physically ready and the bat weight came in at almost a drop 2 making the transition even harder.
Great bat Ryan Gehrke Player
Pros: Awsome bat. Hot out of wrapper and already hit some dingers.
Cons: None
HOT BAT Jay Parent
Pros: Great balance with alot of pop. Ball comes of the bat fast.
Cons: Nothing yet.
This thing hits lazers! Jackson Player
Pros: This thing hits lazers in every direction. Great balance and pop.
Cons: Maybe a little pricey for Aluminum but performs better than the composites so is actually a bargain.
Hot bat right out of the wrapper Lee Coach
Pros: love the feel and pop
Cons: none

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
